The framework under development encompasses a matrix of movement and music dimensions
the definition and connection of which is embedded in

• an elaborated theoretical account of the musician-instrument relationship (Nijs & Bremmer, 2019; Nijs, 2017; Nijs et al, 2013).

• different existing approaches (Dalcroze, LMA, Viewpoints, ...)

• practice (workshops, weekly lessons, performing)

 

The music-movement matrix will be based on different dimensions of movement, in relation to different aspects of music. The idea is to provide these as "lego blocks" on the basis of which teachers can develop their own movement-based practices.

Currently elaborated movement dimensions are:
            space - timing - agency - status - structure - relation - quality

Each of these dimension is provided with a solid theoretical background, and different practices are being developed that connect theory and practice.
